With the invention of the digital camera, it became a lot easier to send cameras over sites where it was deemed too dangerous or inaccessible for humans. With the help of digital cameras, now scientists have access to places which they never dreamed and are able to record it and share their discoveries with the world. Researchers are better able to capture and identify a problem digitally to help out people physically and mentally.
To Infinity, and Beyond...
Thanks again to the digital camera, we are no longer limited to the confines of our imaginations here on planet Earth. Scientists have been able to send out probes and rover to get a better view of our solar system and the great beyond. Pathfinder and a slew of other rovers and probes sent out by NASA have given us a better look at Mars, the moons of Saturn and much more. These photographs have reignited public interest in space exploration and where we go next. With the help of some images, a little imagination, a lot of serious science and massive amounts of determintation, we can go where ever we please.
Development of New Devices
Without the innovation of the the digital camera, many of the technologies we use today would not be possible. Elon Musk's self driving car technology depends on the use of several cameras on the perimeter of the car to detect road signs and painted lines. The cameras on our smartphones are mini digital cameras which allow us to snap on the go in a compact form. Memory cards have exponentially increased in storage size, as a direct result of the demand of more space to fit thousands of digital photos.
